The KeryFlex Nail Restoration System

Restore the appearance and boost the durability of your nail with this unique system.

If your toenails look brittle, are splitting or are disfigured due to fungal nail infections, there is a system that can help to restore and improve the appearance of the nail. It’s called the KeryFlex Nail reconstruction system, and our McLean, VA, podiatrists offer it right here at their practice. This simple, painless procedure can give you beautiful, durable and clear nails again.

How does the KeryFlex system work?

This cosmetic and restorative procedure can help to improve the appearance of your toenails while also making them more durable. This nail reconstruction system allows our McLean, VA, foot doctors to use lightweight, medical-grade polymer resin to create an artificial nail that looks just like the real thing and also creates a protective layer to allow the natural nail to grow underneath. You will see results immediately and you can even use nail polishes without worrying about your newly constructed KeryFlex nail.

Once the nail has been shaped and sculpted with our system, we will use a UV curing light to seal the polymer resin directly to your natural nail. The result is a resilient, non-porous new toenail. The procedure only takes about 15-30 minutes, depending on how many nails we are treating, and the process is completely painless and non-invasive.

Since your natural nails will eventually grow out, you will need to come in about every 6-8 weeks for touch-up treatments.

Who should consider the KeryFlex system?

If you’re embarrassed by unsightly toenails, then this nail reconstruction system may be right for you. You may benefit from the KeryFlex system if,

  • You are dealing with unsightly toenails due to toenail fungus
  • You have spoon-shaped toenails
  • You have discolored, brittle or weak toenails
  • You have sustained an injury that has affected the shape of your nails
  • You have horizontal ridges in your nails

It is important to discuss any health problems with our podiatrists, as this procedure isn’t right for everyone. Those with peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease or an ingrown toenail should not use the KeryFlex Nail Restoration System. Those who may be allergic to the material we used, who have no natural nail left, as well as women who are pregnant or nursing also aren’t ideal candidates for treatment.
